Valeria, I love you. I can not thank you enough for everything you helped me to see in my own life. I miss taking naps next to you but i know when we are all together again you will share your bed with me and laugh at my stupid jokes to make me feel good haha. Stay in my heart like you have been, your presence in my life is so strong and powerful. Thank you Lord! These are simple words, i know, but they come from a simple heart that overflows with the realization of your goodness. I am blessed. Ti amo Valeria. Ti amo mas que a mi vida! Love Always ! Viva, Time is flying but you are in my heart everyday. I know two days ago was a very special and sad day for mom and dad and I kept thinking about how they felt and still feel. We can't bring back the past we can't erase it either but we can definetely make the present and the future better because of you and your inspiration. Thank you Viva for not leaving our minds.

It was such an honor for my family to have met your family in 2007. You gave us such strength to continue in our lives and have hope. It has been almost 3 years (in April) that we have lost our sweet angel, Lila and miraculously we all feel joy in our hearts. You ask yourself, "how can I be so happy, in the face of such tradgedy?" This joy must only be from God and from our angel. I know your family will be blessed always with the peace and happiness we all feel. We know that we don't have to worry any more. She is soooo happy in heaven. Love always, Mark, Liz and Mia Salazar

Dearest Reyes Family it was always my privilege to see you. You brought grace and energy with you on all your visits to Sloan Kettering. You affection made others happy, too, and your playfulness and kindness should be a model for the world: This is how wonderful a family can be! Valeria, darling girl, your name will always be music to me. Love, Dr. Ukulele Lady

Dear Reyes Family, We had a short time together at the MSKCC inpatient. Our daughter Lily still talks of the little puppy that brought us together - Campanita. We were truelly honored to meet Valeria and your family. Our hearts were saddened to find out the news. Please know that little time together meant alot to our daughter - especially sharing little Campanita with us, making our inpatient experience a little happier. May God be with Valeria and comfort your family in this trying time. God Bless...

Hello Valeria - When I read about your Memorial Service I was stunned and speachless. I read through the journal entries, guest book entries, and reviewed the pictures and videos. You are truly an angel and have touched many lives.

Hello Nayda, I agree with Sierra's message. The tribute to Valeria was so beautifully done by everyone involved. The songs, the poems, the sadness and the humor - were all inspiring. You were courageous to stand up and read the story about the little angel. The message was powerful, thank you for sharing it. I wish the Reyes and Rivera family peace and joy in 2010. We will keep in touch!

Dear Reyes Family, The honoring of Valeria, at MKA yesterday, was absolutely the most beautiful, and meaningful tribute we have ever attended. Everything that was said, touched us so deeply, we are still talking about it. Valeria was a very special girl, from a warm, deeply spiritual and loving family. Although her life was cut short - we don't think she missed out on her full share of love and affection! God Bless all of you in the days ahead. Thank you for sharing your angel with us, the VB sisters loved their seventh man and she will be in our hearts forever. XO Sierra & family

Last Friday, my 4th grade class was in charge of our school's Catholic Mass--we included a very special petition for Valeria and her family. On the morning of the mass, the student who was supposed to read the petition was absent. One of my other students immediately volunteered, and although he severely struggles with reading, assured me that if I let him read the petition, that "my special friend would be smiling all the way from Heaven." He must have had an angel with him, because he read the petition perfectly : )

I "met" Valeria through the Chemo Angels program. Although they said I was to be her angel, I really believe she was the angel and we all know that she IS an angel now! She taught so many how to really enjoy and live to the fullest and to do it a smile! My family will never forget her sweet smile and she will forever my my heart. I pray for the Reyes family that they will heal and know that God will keep Valeria under his wings. Love, Tricia

Valeria, when I read about your Memorial Service I started crying like a baby. I didn't know and I didn't expect it to happen. I met you at the RMDH in New York. You were a great kid (now I guess a wonderful young lady). Happy, smiling, inspirational. I keep your picture with your cousin Francesca, the two two little princesses of the RMDH... I remember our bingo games, the parties in the terrace. I remeber you calling me "loco" for my stupid jokes. And above all I remeber your smile. I'm sure you made Heaven a happier place... A great hug to you and to your family from Italy.

I am a complete stranger who came across this incredible story of courage and faith after trying to find out more about childhood brain tumors. I have three healthy children that I thank God for everyday. A good friend of my 11 year old daughter, Adrianne, passed away on November 10, 2009 of a brain tumor. Her friend's name is Jesenia Perez, born February 4, 1998. Jesenia always remembered to include Adrianne in her special moments and celebrations, that is just one of the reasons why she was so special, that regardless of the pain and inability to do much she tried to show joy to her friend. It is amazing how tremendously brave and strong children are, they can definitely teach some of us adults a lesson or two. Thank you for this opportunity to share this experience. In memory of Jesenia and your daughter Valeria, God has two fighting Angels on his side. GOD BLESS. Lissette (Phila,PA)

Valeria gave me courage and strength when I didn't know where I could find any. She was hope when I was in despair. Watching her amazing spirit, with her amazing eyes would uplift me. Her eyelashes were gorgeous :) I remember bringing her yummy sugar free, chocolates and she said she would have to hide them so she could savor and enjoy them...she was my son's crush in the hospital and her kindness and patience with him was always so tender. I know she is in heaven with him drawing, singing and dancing...until we meet again princess......

Dec 3rd 2009. We sat next to Uncle Jino on a plane flight from New York to Seattle. We are saddened by your loss. Now you have your own angel in heaven. God never closes a window but opens a door. Valerie is free now and in her short life she accomlished what she was to do on earth. May her spirit fill your home this holiday season. We will keep you in our prayers.

Marta Estarellas

Here is a poem that I thought you might like and that might give you strenght throughout the festive season! Christmas in Heaven by Wanda Bencke I see the countless Christmas trees Around the world below, With tiny lights like heaven's stars Reflecting in the snow. The sight is so spectacular please wipe away that tear for I am spending CHRISTMAS WITH JESUS CHRIST this year. I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear but the sound of music can't compare with the CHRISTMAS CHOIR up here. I have no words to tell you of the JOY their voices bring for it is beyond description to HEAR THE ANGELS SING. I know how much you miss me, I see the pain inside your heart for I am spending CHRISTMAS WITH JESUS CHRIST this year. I can't tell you of the SPLENDOR or the PEACE here in this place Can you just imagine CHRISTMAS WITH OUR SAVIOR face to face I'll ask him to lift your spirit as I tell him of your love so then PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER as you lift your eyes above. Please let your hearts be joyful and let your spirit sing for I am spending CHRISTMAS IN HEAVEN and Iâ??m walking WITH THE KING. Lots of love, Tanja

I met Valeria at one of my volleyball games for MKA, and I have to say that she seemed so full of love and life, it is hard to believe that she could die. I send my deepest sympathy to her family, and hope that they can get through this hard time.
